Outline:
1. Supporting innovation: How the UK’s financial regulator is working more with fintech companies to help them develop innovative products, services and solutions that offer better outcomes for consumers.
2. Regulatory sandbox: The process of establishing the UK’s ‘regulatory sandbox’ to test new business models. The experience of the first cohort of fintech companies to use the sandbox and plans for the second cohort this year.
3. Future plans: How the FCA is evolving its approach based on its experiences of fostering innovation. Plans to work with international partners to develop a common understanding of the principles of good innovation; increase engagement with the emerging regional UK FinTech hubs and expand the scope of the FCA ‘Advice Unit’ which helps companies that provide automated advice to consumers.
