    Today, the "Qianhai Cross-border Financial Index"(QCFI), jointly compiled by QIIR and the Hong Kong University, was released by the President of QIIR, Prof. Edward K. Y. Chen for its Q3 data this year. The conference was moderated by He Zijun, the Deputy Director-General of Qianhai Authority, at Vanke Qianhai Enterprise Dream Park.     07,2016Professor Edward K Y Chen Shared Insights at the “Hong Kong Super-Connecting the Belt and Road” Forum

    Professor Edward K Y CHEN, President of QIIR, was a guest speaker at the Forum on “Hong Kong Super-Connecting The Belt and Road” organized by the China Daily on December 7, 2016. The Honorable C Y LEUNG, Chief Executive, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region delivered the keynote address before joining the board of panelists comprising Professor Edward K Y CHEN, President of QIIR; Mr. Stephen T.H. NG, Chairman, Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce; Dr. Jonathan CHOI, Chairman, The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Ivan K L CHU, Chief Executive, Cathay Pacific Airways Limited; and Mr. Mark E. TUCKER, Group Chief Executive and President, AIA Group Limited. The dialogue covered topics of Hong Kong’s talent development, financial innovation, trade and the cooperation of the Belt and Road. Professor Jesus Seade was the moderator. Dr. Anoop Singh, the keynote speaker of QIIR Distinguished Scholar Lecture and Prof. Nick Hope of Stanford University also attended the forum as panelists.     The Edward K Y Chen Lecture 2016 was held at Loke Yew Hall at the University of Hong Kong on November 14, 2016. The Lecture entitled “East Asia Economic Stability at Bay: The Role of International Cooperation” was presented by Dr. Chalongphob Sussangkarn, Distinguished Fellow of Thailand Development Research Institute and Member of International Advisory Council at QIIR.     02,2016Visit of Shenzhen Cultural & Creative Industries Association (SCCI)

    On September 2, 2016, Chen Heping, president of Great Cultural Group of Amer International Group and secretary-general of SCCI, and Li Hong, Director of SCCI visited QIIR and exchanged opinions of further cooperation between the industry and research with our President, Professor Edward CHEN, and our executive vice president, Long Qian, for the signing ceremony to confirm direction. Details were finalized a week later. Professor Edward Chen affirmed the positive interaction between QIIR and Amer International Group and appreciated the support of research in enterprise to carry out academic achievements.     On July 19, 2016, Dr. Andrew ELEK, the Senior Consulting Fellow of the Belt and Road Research Center of QIIR, and Mr. Prasoon Sharma, Visiting Research Fellow of QIIR had an intense discussion on Regional Economy. Evelyn Long, Executive Vice President, Doris Yan, Deputy Director of Financial Innovation Research Center, Elizabeth Ge, Head of AGA, Prof. Mei LI, Senior Visiting Research Fellow, and other QIIR staffs attended this tea gathering. During the discussion, Dr. Elek shared his views and comments on the Belt and Road Initiative and highly affirmed that China plays a leading role in pushing the Belt and Road integration process. Mr. Sharma raised several points of regional integration from an Indian scholar’s perspective and stated that India always welcomes the overseas investment, but it may be different from case to case.
